GATE EC preparation: subjects, revision and practice
Prepare for GATE Electronics & Communication (EC) by moving from subject understanding to timed solving and answer review. This page brings together 9 listed subjects, revision notes, topic groups, custom-test options, full mock formats and original previous-year paper sessions. Use each format for a specific study goal rather than treating every short set as a complete syllabus test.
Review the relevant syllabus and choose a topic you can explain without looking at an answer.
Revise definitions, formula conditions and one worked example. Keep units and sign conventions visible.
Attempt a timed set with a clear objective: accuracy first, then question selection and pacing.
Classify each error as a concept gap, model choice, calculation mistake or time-management issue. Revisit the relevant notes before another attempt.
GATE EC practice questions and answers
Which subjects can I revise for GATE EC?
The listed subjects are Engineering Mathematics, Networks, Signals and Systems, Electronic Devices, Analog Circuits, Digital Circuits, Control Systems, Communications, Electromagnetics, General Aptitude (GA). Open Revise on a subject card for explanations, formulas, worked examples and common mistakes.
How do GATE EC topic-group tests work?
Choose a subject and one of its topic groups. The group requests 10 random questions from its available pool. If fewer distinct families are available, the page discloses a shorter practice set instead of padding it with numerical variants.
Can I practise original GATE EC previous-year papers?
The previous-year cards open the original master paper with a timed answer sheet and the corresponding imported answer key. Choose the paper year and session shown on the card. These sessions are separate from generated practice questions.
What happens after I submit a test?
The GATE player grades answers after submission or timeout. Review your score, penalties, subject results and accepted answers. Worked explanations are shown where available; official answer keys do not necessarily provide worked solutions. Supported reports save to your learner dashboard in the browser when you start while logged in.
